Barlinek at the BAU 2017 Trade Fair

There was a record attendance of over 250,000 at the BAU World Trade Fair for Architecture, Materials and Systems which took place between16-21 January in Munich. In line with the "Create and be with us!" catchphrase Barlinek could not miss this event — the largest of its kind in the world.

We wanted to follow the "Create and be with us!” statement by showing that wood as a material shapes not only interiors, but also lifestyles and ways of living. This was also the idea behind the concept of our stand designed by Szymon Hanczar, which was intended to present wood in its purest form. Its naturalness and beauty, which are reflected in our products.

The remarkable two-storey stand attracted a great deal of interest among the visitors. Their gaze was drawn from afar by the distinctively recognisable Barlinek brand, but also thanks to the interesting crown which not only covered the top level but also stood out among the other stands.

The stand design corresponded to the Barlinek range on display, namely the Senses, Tastes of Life and Jean Marc Artisan collections. Senses is a creative combination of 3 major trends in contemporary design — large size, a sedate colour scheme and natural beauty. Senses boards are of a longer than standard length (207 mm), with edges clearly marked, subtle earthy discolourations and the natural structure of the wood visible. The designer Tastes of Life collection was created in collaboration with the interior designers who reached the finals of the 1st Creation from Nature competition organised by the Barlinek Institute of Design and Design Alive magazine. This is a collection of stained floorboards for people with passion who appreciate style and beauty, and yearn for an intensive taste of life. The unique manually aged oak of the Jean Marc Artisan forms floorboards with soul, for the most demanding customers. This collection has its roots in the tradition of the legendary French artisans.

"As a company, we also pay special attention to collaboration with architects and interior designers, so we are glad that each subsequent BAU means more architects," says Dorota Karbowska-Zawadzka, Barlinek's Marketing Director. "Collaboration with designers in this area of design has also brought spectacular success and an exceptional concept for the stand. This is also proof for our partners and customers that Barlinek is a company with potential which is oriented towards expansion and development," she adds.

This was over 65,000 this year.

Most important figures:

• Over 250,000 visitors
